NATIONAL CITY, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) -- Drivers can expect to see more law enforcement on the roads in the South Bay this weekend.
The National City Police Department's Traffic Unit will be checking for people driving under the influence on Saturday, Sept. 20. Officers will specifically be on the lookout for signs of alcohol and/or drug impairment, as well as proper licensing, the department stated. • The video above by Nexstar Media Wire shows which states have the most strict DUI laws
The checkpoint will be in the 2900 block of Highland Avenue starting at 6 p.m.
According to NCPD, checkpoints are placed in locations based on how many DUI arrests have been made in those areas as well as collision statistics.
