Police confirmed one person is dead after a traffic accident early Thursday evening in north Lubbock.

The Lubbock Police Department’s Major Crash Unit was on scene Wednesday evening for a report of a collision that was reported about 5:29 p.m. in the 200 block of Indiana Avenue, according to a statement from LPD.

One person was pronounced dead after the crash. No other injuries were reported.

The public was urged to avoid the area.

Other information about the crash and victim were not immediately available as the investigation is ongoing.
