STATEN ISLAND, N.Y.— Tottenville kept its unblemished start to the 2025 PSAL campaign intact Thursday, improving to 4-0 with a 3-1 home win over Susan Wagner.
The Pirates jumped out to a 1-0 halftime lead thanks to junior Maxim Chernin’s well-placed header off of a free kick, followed by a strike from sophomore Joshua Gluck with the help of a deflection to make it 2-0 Tottenville in the second half.
“We have so many guys who can go up the pitch. We’re a young squad, with sophomores and freshmen coming off the bench, but we trust them to step in. When there’s a mishap, we can sub with no problem, and in the final third, our guys are critical and finalize opportunities,” Pirates head coach Alfonso Castaneda-Diaz said of his deep attacking options.
