LEAVENWORTH, Wash. – The US 2 West of Leavenworth Slope Stabilization Project has been completed with new netting on four slopes between Leavenworth and Stevens Pass, Washington Department of Transportation (DOT) announced.
DOT said the netting should improve safety for the public traveling along the US 2 corridor.
The $2.3 million project, which ran from July to September 2025, focused on slopes with a history of active rockfall.
It included repairing damaged slope stabilization systems and removing loose rock at four key slopes near the summit of Stevens Pass and through Tumwater Canyon.
