LOUISVILLE, Ky. — One of UPS's longest-serving drivers retired Thursday after almost six decades on the road.
The company held a celebration for Cleveland Francis, who left behind a 58-year legacy that helped shape UPS into a global leader.
"You don't get this story very much anymore, people don't work at the same place for 58 years, and he's enjoyed it the entire time," is daughter Mandy Wood said. "We're very happy for him."
Francis became a local legend years ago, when he saved a customer's life during a deliver in 1979. He frequently delivered insulin to a diabetic.
One day, he found the man who had fallen and had laid in his garage for 48 hours before Francis found him while on his route, and called for help.
With 56 years of safe driving, that's a record that only a small handfu
