MONROE, La. (KNOE) - Seniors from across Northeast Louisiana laced up their shoes for a day of fun, fitness, and fellowship at the Paramount Health Care Consultants Senior Olympics.
Seniors from Monroe, Bastrop, Arcadia, Homer, and Rayville came together at the Monroe Civic Center for a game designed to boost their physical and mental health.
Events included wheelchair racing, bowling, bean bag toss, ring toss, and other friendly competitions.
Dawn Barkley, CEO of Paramount Health Care Consultants, said many look forward to the annual program.
“It’s the one thing they look forward to the most. They’re competing, they’re having games they practiced for, they do a skit or a dance,” Barkley said. “The benefit of social interaction in a setting like this at the Civic Center lets them know
