With Nebraska needing a goal, Lauryn Anglim took matters into her own hands — or, more precisely, her right foot.

The La Vista native bent in a stunning corner kick with 32 seconds left in regulation to lift the Huskers to a 1-1 draw against No. 8 Penn State on Thursday night in State College.

Anglim’s ball sailed high and curved just beyond the reach of the Nittany Lions goalkeeper, curling straight into the net for her first goal of the season. The dramatic finish helped Nebraska avoid its first loss of the year and extend its unbeaten run to nine matches (5-0-4).

Penn State had taken the lead in the 29th minute on a goal from Kaitlyn MacBean. The Nittany Lions finished with nine shots — Nebraska had eight.
