LORAIN, Ohio (WJW) - The Lorain County Sheriff's Office is warning residents about the latest in series of phone scams, that claim the victim has outstanding arrest warrants and demand payment of a fee or face immediate arrest.

Michael McCrary is the owner of a vape shop in Sheffield Village. He said he received a call on his cell phone on Thursday from a number he did not recognize.

A short time later, he got a second call from the same number, and he was alarmed by the message left on his phone.

He provided FOX 8 news with a copy of the recorded message:

"Hello, this is Sgt. Kish with the Lorain County Sheriff's Office. I was calling to make an initial contact with a Mr. William McCrary. Now sir, if you can call us back at this extension line at your earliest convenience. This call i
