The Colorado volleyball team had an opportunity to make a little team history. Instead, the Buffaloes will head home for the second half of a rivalry series trying to shake off the first loss of the season.

CU’s undefeated start came to a screeching halt on Thursday night in Fort Collins, as Colorado State swept the Buffs 25-22, 25-18, 25-17 at Moby Arena. The Buffs had won their past two road matches at CSU and entered Thursday’s showdown with a mark of 9-0, tying the best start in program history. But the Rams wasted little time denying the Buffs the first 10-0 start in team history.

The Buffs dropped only three sets during the 9-0 start before getting swept by the Rams.
