A man who was found guilty of the "execution-style murder" of his "unarmed" tenant on the northern outskirts of Adelaide has been jailed for at least 28 years.

Matthew Charles Draganoff, 48, was found guilty by a Supreme Court jury earlier this year of murdering 49-year-old Simon Middleton in the early hours of March 8, 2021 at a property on Brady Street at Virginia, north of Adelaide.

The 12-person jury handed down its verdict in June after more than 25 hours of deliberations , over five days.

They heard during the two-month trial that Mr Middleton was shot by Draganoff three times at close-range following growing animosity between the two.
