Arizona Cardinals star quarterback Kyler Murray has apologized after posting an unfortunate photo on Instagram earlier this week.

Murray posted a photo of himself in a Michael Vick Virginia Tech jersey on his page. He was accompanied in the picture by his pit bull, Trunks. You can check out the photo, which has since been deleted, here .

Kyler Murray understandably received criticism for the post due to the fact that Michael Vick was arrested for running a dogfighting operation in 2007.

As a part of the operation, he killed pit bulls that did not perform up to expectations.

Murray apologized for the post on Wednesday and made it clear that he is not supportive of animal cruelty.

“In no way, shape or form do I condone animal cruelty or dog fighting or whatever it is,“ Murray said
