ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Metropolitan Detention Center is investigating how an inmate was mistakenly released. The jail said 29-year-old John Romero was booked on three counts of trespassing and one count of resisting last Saturday.
He got credit for time served for two trespassing counts, but he owed a $25 bond for the other charges. MDC said human error led to Romero being released. MDC is reviewing the incident to figure out how to fix the problem.
