(NewsNation) — Human remains believed to be Travis Decker have been found, according to the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office.
"While positive identification has not yet been confirmed, preliminary findings suggest the remains belong to Travis Decker," the sheriff's office said.
Decker had gone on the run after he was accused of killing his three daughters — 9-year-old Paityn, 8-year-old Evelyn and 5-year-old Olivia — at the Rock Island Campground in Chelan County, Washington, during a planned visitation.
The Chelan County Sheriff’s Office says it is currently processing the scene with the assistance of the Washington State Patrol crime scene response team, to be followed up with DNA analysis.
This is a developing story.
