SACRAMENTO, Calif. —
Sacramento's Marysville Boulevard, identified as one of the city's top five corridors with the highest number of fatal and severe crashes, is set for a major safety overhaul through the Vision Zero Safety Project, which will be implemented in phases.
The Vision Zero program has pinpointed Marysville Boulevard as a critical area for safety improvements, with plans including a road diet, upgraded bike lanes, accessible curb ramps, new pedestrian traffic signals, modifications to existing traffic signals, pavement repair, bus stop improvements, and enhanced signing and striping. The total cost of the project is approximately $18 million, with $9.1 million in State Transportation Improvement Program funding.
