EAST LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) – The Michigan State women's soccer team welcomed 4th-ranked University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) to DeMartin Stadium in their Big 10 home opener on Thursday night.

Coming off of a 1-1 draw against Rutgers, the Spartans found themselves with the same results.

Junior Kennedy Bell gave MSU the early lead 20 minutes into the first half. The Spartans went into halftime with a 1-0 advantage.

"It felt great, I'm not gonna lie it felt awesome," said Bell with a big smile. "That's what we talked about all week, that's how we knew we could counter them, and to a T that's how it happened."

However, the Bruins would not go away just yet and evened things up 15 minutes into the second half with a goal from freshman Kara Croone.
