Members of Moundsville City Council learned this week that anticipated completion of the new Municipal and Safety Building will likely not occur for at least another three months.

City Manager Rick Healy gave this update to council during its regular meeting on Tuesday.

“As expected, the latest schedule does push our substantial completion date back three months,” he said. “There is still discussion concerning the entire completion including the demolition of the current building and construction of the parking lot, as part of the schedule.”

Healy said previously he anticipated the completion date would be pushed beyond Oct. 31. Using that date, the building would likely be mostly done by January.
