Eastlake was impressive in its final tuneup berfore the start of District 1-6A play next week.

The Falcons evened their record at 2-2 with an 51-28 win vs. New Mexico's Rio Rancho High School on Thursday night at the SAC 1. The win avenged a 26-21 loss to the Rams last season in Rio Rancho.

Eastlake scored 20 straight points in the first half to go up 20-8 at half and scored 31 points in the second half.

Nicholas Irigoyen kicked field goals of 21 and 47 yards, Zeke Herrera ran for a touchdown and Jayden Sharpe caught a touchdown pass to lead the way in the first half. Rio Rancho falls to 2-3. Herrera and quarterback Julian Williams added touchdowns for Eastlake in the second half.

The Falcons plat Montwood on Friday, Sept. 19.
