EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – The University of Southern Indiana women's volleyball downed the University of Evansville three sets to one inside Meeks Family Fieldhouse Thursday night.
The rivalry gained steam after the Purple Aces men's soccer team shut out the Screaming Eagles 3-0 last weekend setting up a chance for USI to get their revenge.
Evansville led the head to head match-up 20-8 coming into the night, but Southern Indiana claimed the final two matches in the 2024 season.
Tonight belonged to the Screaming Eagles as they came out and took an early two set lead. USI claimed the first set 25-20, and the second set 25-22. Then the Purple Aces fought back in the third set stealing one away 25-23. In the fourth set, Southern Indiana put the match away winning it 25-20.
