Former Liberal staffer Bruce Lehrmann will argue a corrupted hard drive and media reports are reasons a judge should dismiss charges he's facing in Toowoomba.

Mr Lehrmann faces two charges of rape, alleged to have occurred in Toowoomba, west of Brisbane, in October 2021.

He has not yet been required to enter a plea in relation to the rape charges, but has indicated he will plead not guilty.

The case was mentioned in the Ipswich District Court on Friday afternoon, where his lawyer Zali Burrows said she should receive a full and unredacted copy of a forensic download of the complainant's mobile phone.

Ms Burrows, appearing by phone, told the court copies of evidence from the mobile phone provided by the prosecution to the defence might be missing some material.
