Offense was not the order of the day for the Palisade High School football team on Thursday.
The Bulldogs started slowly and never picked up the pace at Stocker Stadium, losing 17-6 to Durango — Palisade’s second home loss of the season.
After receiving the opening kickoff, Durango marched down the field and scored a touchdown less than three minutes in to the game on a 9-yard quarterback keeper by Grady Feeney. The score would be all the Demons would need to come out on top Thursday, as Palisade (2-2) only mustered a pair of field goals — one in each half.
Durango added another touchdown and a field goal to the final score, but that was all window dressing. The final score reflected a game that simultaneously was always within the Bulldogs’ reach, but never gave the impression that it
