SPOKANE, Wash. – The Hillyard neighborhood marked a significant milestone with a community celebration that brought residents together for a night of festivities.

The event began in the park with opening remarks and a community gathering.

Spokane Mayor Lisa Brown highlighted the neighborhood’s unique blend of tradition and future aspirations.

“Hillyard is becoming a neighborhood, community entity, it always has been. It’s historic but it’s also reclaiming that identity.. its own special mix of honoring and respecting tradition, but also embracing the future,” Mayor Brown said.

The celebration included live music, pop-up art galleries and hands-on activities. Local businesses also showcased their products, adding to the vibrant atmosphere.
