Ann Arbor – Legacy players are important for programs, especially those that have struggled in recent years, because they knew all about the former greatness. They have a different passion and understand how one player can make an enormous difference.

Dominic Raiola, the 14-year NFL veteran who played center for the Detroit Lions, was a star at Nebraska when the Cornhuskers were a pillar national program. He was a first-team All-American in 2000 and also the first winner of the Rimington Awardm given to the nation’s top center. His No. 54 jersey is retired at Nebraska and his name appears in the stadium with other Cornhusker greats.
