A Fayetteville man was sentenced to at least 15 years in prison in a fatal New Year's Day shooting in 2024.

Deandre Melvin, 20, pleaded guilty Sept. 10 to second-degree murder and felony conspiracy in the death of David Earl Page Jr. , 36. Melvin is also charged with felony larceny of a motor vehicle in an incident that occurred in Hoke County that happened hours before the killing and possession of a stolen firearm, which he was found with when he was arrested.
