One of the locations of Little Caesars in Columbia had to discard a number of items during an inspection that were found to be outside of safe temperatures in the past week.
Pepperoni, sauce, meatballs and pork, despite being in a cooler, tested in the mid-50 degrees Fahrenheit range at the 2901 W. Broadway location. Safe cold holding temperatures are 41 degrees or below.
Routine restaurant inspections happen two to three times per year based on priority and location of Columbia restaurants, Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services previously has said. Follow-up inspections happen if a critical violation is found. Restaurants usually can correct noncritical violations by the next routine inspection.
