A candlelight vigil is planned in Catawba County to mourn the shooting death of conservative influencer Charlie Kirk.
The candlelight vigil will be held at the Catawba County Justice Center in Newton at 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 22. The justice center is located at 100 Government Drive in Newton.
Kirk was shot and killed on Sept. 10 while speaking at an event on the campus of the Utah Valley University. Tyler Robinson, 22, was charged by Utah state prosecutors on Tuesday with aggravated murder in Kirk’s death, according to a press conference by the Utah County Attorney’s Office.
The Catawba County Sheriff’s Office will have deputies at the vigil for safety purposes, Maj. Aaron Turk said. The vigil will take place at the front entrance of the justice center.
