BOULDER COUNTY, Colo. — A bull moose fell off a cliff and onto the highway in Boulder Canyon on Monday, according to a Colorado Parks and Wildlife spokesperson.

The moose fell around Mile Marker 32 on Highway 119, which is about a mile west of Boulder Falls near Doggy Dog Rock. It appeared to have broken its back legs and had difficulty standing or moving, CPW said.

While a CPW officer was en route to the scene, the agency advised Colorado State Patrol on euthanizing the moose due to its injuries and low chance of recovery.

When the CPW officer arrived, they removed the moose's body, the CPW spokesperson said.
