Athletes from Woodridge and Barberton high schools won the voting for the Akron-Area High School Athlete of the Week for Sept. 8-14 .

Addison Hovey from Woodridge is the girls winner and Angelo Gotto from Barberton wins for the boys. Hovey, who plays tennis, received 55.71% of the votes cast. Gotto, who plays football, received 49.92% of the votes cast.

A total of 16,323 votes were cast overall. Look for more on each athlete below.
