Four Residents Hospitalized as Health Officials Urge Prevention
Los Angeles County has reported its first human cases of West Nile virus this year, health officials announced Wednesday. Four people were hospitalized with severe illness linked to the mosquito-borne virus between late July and late August. All are now recovering.
The cases were reported in residents of the Antelope Valley, San Fernando Valley, and central Los Angeles areas, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health.
