If you strip away the politics and the punditry around last week’s terrible killing of the conservative podcaster Charlie Kirk, what you see is a tragedy of a young father assassinated in cold blood.

I have no sympathy for Kirk’s disparaging comments about women, Blacks and gay people. But no one should be killed for their political views.
