Expect a dramatic shift from summer-like warmth to more autumn-like weather, with temperatures dropping from the 80s to the 60s and 70s.

Friday will be warm and breezy, with high temperatures reaching the upper 70s and low 80s across the state, including Springfield and Central Massachusetts. A cold front moving from the north will usher in drier air and northwest winds, with occasional gusts up to 25 mph. While conditions are dry, the National Weather Service notes slightly elevated fire weather conditions due to low humidity.

Overnight temperatures will drop dramatically, with interior regions potentially seeing lows in the low to mid-40s.
