The New York Jets will play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, and it’s possible the Jets defense will catch a break. Buccaneers Starting guard Cody Mauch is out for the season. The same goes for starting tackle Luke Goedeke. Starting receiver Emeka Egbuka has not practiced this week, and All Pro tackle Tristan Wirfs has been limited. That’s a lot of Buccaneers offensive talent that may be out or hobbled on Sunday. It may be just the break the beleaguered Jets defense needs to get on track after opening the season giving up 30+ points in back to back games.

The Jets aren’t built to win shootouts. If the Jets defense doesn’t drastically improve this will be a very long and frustrating season for the players and fans alike. Here’s hoping the defense gets on
