An 18-year-old high school student who was shot by an agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives on Thursday evening in Aliquippa has died.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office said that Kendric Curtis, 18, died at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh a little after 3 a.m. on Friday.

The shooting happened on Waugaman Street at the Linmar Terrace housing complex around 6:20 p.m. on Thursday. The 18-year-old was armed at the time of the shooting, an FBI spokesperson told KDKA-TV on Friday. In a statement Friday evening , Pennsylvania State Police said officers tried to make contact with Curtis, who fled and fired shots at officers. An officer returned firing and shot Crutis, the statement said.
