Aldi is responding to the near-immediate sell-out of its viral shopping bag.

On Tuesday, Sept. 16, at 9 am Central Time, the grocery store released 1,000 units of its limited-edition Big Bag tote bags for free. The bags, a rectangular shape sized at 5.5 square feet, sold out within 13 minutes, with thousands of shoppers receiving the “sold out” notification as they stood in the digital waiting line or while they were checking out with the bag in their carts.
