Originally a ninth-round draft pick of the Hamilton Bulldogs in 2022, the right-winger from Longwood, Fla. was midway through his second season with the Ayr Centennials, junior B affiliates of the Guelph Storm, when the latter team offered him a callup opportunity last fall. A highlight of that five-game run was his visit to Sudbury Community Arena on Nov. 22, during which the 18-year-old played a physical, energetic game and recorded an assist for his first major-junior point a loss to the host Wolves.
“It was a big change, but I learned a lot,” Berehowsky recalled. “It was much faster, stronger, smarter — it was almost easier to play in,
