Miley Cyrus’ new song “Secrets” is an olive branch to her estranged father, Billy Ray Cyrus.
“This song was written as a peace offering for someone I had lost for a time but always loved,” the singer, 32, captioned a snippet of the song’s music video, which she posted on Instagram Friday.
“In my experience, forgiveness and freedom are one and the same.”
The pop star went on to thank Lindsey Buckingham and Mick Fleetwood, who are featured on the track, “for bringing magic to the music.”
Making sure there was no confusion about the subject of the lyrics, she added, “This song is for my dad.”
