TEMPLE, Texas — Temple Police Chief Shawn M. Reynolds has been promoted to assistant city manager after serving in his role for the last five years, the city announced.

Reynolds, who began his law enforcement career in 1994, brings with him decades of public safety and service experience to his new role. Prior to his role as chief of police, he served as a radioman in the U.S. Navy, worked as a firefighter and as an emergency medical technician.

Reynolds also brings with him extensive educational experience, holding Master of Arts in Organizational Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Management and Human Relations from MidAmerica Nazarene University in Olathe, Kansas.
