HAWAII VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK (HawaiiNewsNow) - Episode 33 of the Halemaumau eruption on Kilauea began at around 3 a.m. Friday morning.
Lava fountains are hitting heights of over 500ft and is the first episode we’ve seen in over two weeks.
The U.S. Geological Survey had noted activity within the last few days and was expecting a new episode.

Glow was visible from the north and south vents early Wednesday before 2 a.m.

Volcanic smog, otherwise called vog, and Pele’s hair can travel miles downwind and cause respiratory and eye irritation. Those easily affected are advised to stay indoors.
