Glenn Close Says Nude Scene in 'The Summer Book' Was Her Idea

Glenn Close says she was behind the decision to appear naked in her new movie, “The Summer Book.”

The eight-time Academy Award nominee, 78, stars in the movie, about a family in mourning at a summer cottage in Finland. In one scene, Close, who plays a character named Grandmother, is naked.

“It was my idea,” she told AARP in an interview published Sept. 18. “I thought that’s something she would do when no one else is around. In Finland, they’re much more used to nakedness than we are.”

Close really got into the moment, too.

“I didn’t want to put my clothes back on. It felt so good,” she added.

Close, who has signed on to star in the upcoming “ Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping ,” is used to raising eyebrows on the big scree
