CHARLOTTE — The Panthers will be without a pair of defensive starters Sunday against the Falcons.

Outside linebacker Patrick Jones II (hamstring) and defensive tackle Tershawn Wharton (hamstring) did not participate for the third straight day on Friday, and they have been ruled out for the home opener.

Defensive tackle Bobby Brown III (knee) and safety Tre'von Moehrig (illness) returned to practice on Friday after they were absent on Thursday. Neither has a game designation, meaning they're good to go.

Wide receiver Xavier Legette (hamstring) was limited for the second straight day, and he's listed as questionable.
