66 officers have died in the line of duty this year, including 4 in Florida

Four law enforcement officers in Florida have died in the line of duty so far this year.

The number doesn't include the death of an off-duty Edgewater police officer shot multiple times in the head at a convenience store.

Three officers were killed and two injured in Pennsylvania earlier this week.

Three Pennsylvania law enforcement officers were killed and two others wounded Sept. 17.

Their deaths brings to 66 line-of-duty deaths this year, according to the Officer Down Memorial Page , a non-profit organization dedicated to honoring the lives and sacrifices of America’s fallen law enforcement officers.

The organization said 167 officers were killed in the line of duty in 2024.
