LPD confirms a woman was arrested for abandoning elderly mother

LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - The Laredo Police Department released information about a daughter abandoning her elderly mother.

On September 17, 2025, at approximately 4:09 p.m., officers responded to the 3000 block of Santa Barbara St for a call regarding the abandonment of an elderly individual.

The caller reported that an elderly female had been left alone without care, food, or water for two days.

Upon arrival, officers requested the assistance of the Laredo Fire Department. Paramedics located an elderly female with special needs, who was found to be dehydrated and suffering from medical issues.

Officers also observed that the residence had no electricity or running water and was in poor living conditions.
