A Colorado teen was fatally shot by police after calling 911 and threatening to open fire inside a business and shoot at officers, authorities said late Thursday.
The incident took place in Aurora, just east of Denver. Around 7:30 p.m., police responded to a 911 call about an armed male suspect who had threatened violence inside a business in the 200 block of South Havana Street.
“The 911 caller, who [was] also the suspect in the incident, also threatened to shoot at police officers ,” the Aurora Police Department said in a news release.
The suspect, who has not been named, said he was planning to shoot businesses in the area, Fox31 Denver reported, adding he called 911 from a Rocket gas station.
