BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- The Village of Fredonia issued a boil water order for all residents and those outside of village boundaries that use its water system.
Officials said the village received results of two failing bacteria samples in the distribution system, with one containing E. coli.
Residents are instructed to boil water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth and making coffee until further notice to kill the bacteria and microbes. The water needs to be boiled for one minute and then cooled before using it.
The water can be used for bathing, as long as it isn't consumed, laundry, and dishwashers that reach 170 degrees.
Fredonia will collect water samples over the next few days to see if it's safe to use. The village had a week-long water boil order in July, whic
