A crash on a busy Devon dual carriageway has left one lane closed and caused miles of queueing traffic this evening (Friday), according to reports.

Traffic monitoring site, Inrix, reported shortly before 3pm that there was queueing traffic and one lane closed on the A381 Torquay Road southbound between A380 Besigheim Way (Ware Barton Roundabout, Kingsteignton), and Penn Inn Roundabout ( Newton Abbot ).

It was later confirmed that two vehicles had been involved in the collision, which remains ongoing as of 6.30pm. There is congestion to the Sandygate turn-off, with traffic queuing for around five miles between Newton Abbot and Sandygate, traffic maps show.
