NELSON COUNTY, Ky. —
There's been a significant development in the case against the two highest-ranking members of the Nelson County Sheriff's Department.
Charges have been dropped against Sheriff Ramon Pineirora. Deputy Brandon Bryan, who was facing multiple felony charges alongside Pineirora, pleaded guilty to lesser misdemeanor forgery charges.
Both officials were previously accused of illegally selling seized vehicles and retaliating against whistleblowers.
However, during a hearing Friday, Pineirora was cleared of all charges, and Bryan accepted a plea deal for the reduced charges.
