Livingston’s inaugural Fringe Festival (LFF) kicks off next week, promising 11 original plays performed by more than 40 volunteer performers at nine original locations across the city from Monday, Sept. 22 until Sunday, Sept. 28.
It all began as an idea festival co-directors and founders Kate Britton and Tessa Welsch discussed in a sauna in November. The festival is slated to be the first grassroots exhibition of its kind in the state. The event is the culmination of 11 months and hundreds of hours of preparation for the two creatives.
"I haven't seen this done in Montana before," said Britton, explaining the festival is originally inspired by the The Edinburgh Festival Fringe in Scotland, the world's largest of its kind.
