A bull moose fell into an old well in Down East Maine on Wednesday and had to be rescued by game wardens and a wildlife biologist.

The ordeal was captured on video by Delaney Reyn Gardner, a Waltham, Massachusetts, resident who was visiting her hometown of Pembroke, Maine, a rural community located a short distance from the Canadian border.

"My 15-year-old stepbrother was working on a shed, heard some rustling and decided to look through the thick alders to see, and saw antlers!" Gardner said. "Got a bit closer and discovered the old well. We had no idea it was on the property!"

Inside the well, they were startled to discover, was a moose.
