A woman was killed in Beacon Hill Friday morning after being struck by a box truck while apparently crossing the street.

This incident is unfolding, but police and Seattle Fire Department medics were called to the intersection of Beacon Avenue South and South Portland Street just before 9:30 a.m. for reports of the collision. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Seattle Police Department Traffic Collision Unit investigators are on scene. The 66-year-old box truck driver is also on scene and is talking with detectives.
