Canadians are becoming restless — and emboldened. An economy wobbling under tariffs and inflation is the perfect tinderbox for union organization. Strikes , once relatively rare, are now routine theatre in our country’s workplaces.
In the last 18 months, Canada Post has been locked in perpetual combat with the 55,000 members of its postal union . Last July, 10,000 LCBO employees walked off the job, holding Ontario’s liquor supply hostage in the middle of summer. And, of course, the Air Canada strike disrupted Canadians’ vacation plans.
