Washington ― Michigan Democratic lawmakers in Congress split over a House resolution Friday honoring the life and legacy of Charlie Kirk, more than a week after the conservative activist was assassinated in Utah.

U.S. Reps. Rashida Tlaib and Shri Thanedar, both of Detroit, were among 58 Democrats who voted against the ceremonial measure, which passed 310-58. Thirty-eight other Democrats voted "present." Aside from Tlaib and Thanedar, the rest of Michigan's House delegation voted in support of the measure.
